Hi Carl!

Sorry you are having trouble with VR. Since VR is recognizing the
command, I would assume your mic/sound card path is working. You do have a
Voice-Session item defined, yes? You do have your initiate, acknowledge,
and terminate phrases defined, yes? Which version of the MS Speech SDK did
you install?

Ok, now that we established that, what is the state of your Voice-Session
item before you speech your initiate phrase? What is it after you speak
your initiate phrase? Let us know this info, and we'll move on to the next
phase of troubleshooting.

Also, I'm very surprised you don't like speech. I think it's exceptional,
and have not heard anything better. It's the first speech synth that I
thought was good enough to abandon the recorded voice prompts we used to use
for everything. You might check you tts.dt file and make sure you aren't
using the telephone version of the voices.

Cheers!

Michael,

Sorry, I am using ECS.exe. Is this the official name for the Win95
version?
I assume ECSD is dos. Anyway no VR happening. I can see the commands
recognised in the ECS VR window but no event actions. No big deal
I'm more interested in Home Voice for VR. Any info on it? Any idea
why the synth speech sounds so much better in other programs than ECS?
Very commpressed and noisy.

Thanks,

Carl
