By your message it sounds like you are getting:

12/26 Sunday    12:00a 060 --     A&E        Biography

Is this correct?  If it is you may have a problem with your tv-p-chn file.
It needs six SPACES not tabs between the channel number and the call
letters.

If not, what does a line look like?

I am having much trouble getting TV-Guide event to work. I can't get the
TV-Guide window convert call letters to cable numbers. I have edited
TV-P.TXT as Mark has advised. The TV-Guide displays, but the programs are
listed by call letters, not cable numbers and favorites don't have an '*'
next to them.

What events feed TV-Guide? I know it is documented in example cfg but I can
not find it.
