Don,

No, it doesn't put a "*" by favorites in the TV-Guide or TV-Listing. Think
Mark's doc's addressed this - I "think" the "*" is only put into the
TV-Guide -IF- the show already exists in the TVLFAV.TXT file when TV-Guide
is generated..... Not too sure about all of this anyway; just got it
"running" with announcement tonight, but I did check before shutting it down
and didn't have any "*" characters in either TV-Listing or TV-Guide......
However, TV-Guide had not had a chance to 'regenerate' after I had added a
program to TVLFAV.TXT...... I'll experiment more tomorrow night but need to
get outa here now; gotta get up early for training tomorrow (yeech!).

Also, I had to "bypass" all the autodial stuff as I use cable modem; wasn't
particularly difficult (so far) but only confirmed Auto-Download of TVL.TXT
to be working. I don't use email stuff (yet?).

What I did was to use my laptop to "play"... I installed ECS 4.2.007 and
used EXAMPLE.CFG as a starting point. Haven't done anything toward
integrating all of this into my 'real' home system... I just wanted to get
it working reliably and understand what/how it worked before reworking my
entire home system...

I'll send details of what I changed for cable modem stuff tomorrow if you'd
like........

Bill
