Hi Mark -
Thank you for your interest in Dialogic products. Based on the requirements
that you outlined in your email to Dialogic, it is my understanding that you
are looking to develop a telephony application. Please keep in mind that
Dialogic is strictly a hardware vendor and that we do not manufacture or
sell any application software. Our Software Development Kits or "SDKs" are
specific to the Operating System you plan to support. The SDKs contain our
drivers, C-based APIs and documentation. You need to be a C-programmer in
order to develop off the APIs that we provide. We do partner with several
companies that we refer to as "Toolkits" - they offer software "tools" that
help to speed up and simplify the development process of your application.
They sell our hardware bundled with their tools so that you can do one stop
shopping, it is also the most cost effective means of acquiring Dialogic
hardware and software tools together. Please note that there is not support
for Linux yet, but planned for the first half of this year. We do support
NT, 95, Unix and others at this time. The following companies would be able
to speak with you about which hardware is best suited to your needs:
Envox 888-368-6987 http://www.envox.com
Parity Software 415-332-5656 http://www.paritysoftware.com
Artisoft 800-914-9985 http://www.artisoft.com
Pronexus 613-271-8989 http://www.pronexus.com

All our hardware adheres to open standards from density size as few as 2
ports up to 48 on a single card. We have both ISA and PCI cards. Please
see the attached URL for links to our voice boards.

Hope this helps - please feel free to contact me with any further questions
you may have.

Subject: Home automation wish list

Hello Dialogic,
I am a home-automation software developer in search of a
telephony product with these characteristics:
1) Software should support an API thru which "external"
   (home automation) software can:
	a) Access/playback/delete/record messages in multiple boxes
	b) Access spoken commands (speech-recognition)
	c) Access CID (including call-waiting CID)
	d) Access pickup/hangup/DTMFs activity (remote and in-house)
	e) Play .WAV files
	f) Place calls to deliver messages and numeric and alpha pages
	g) Transfer calls
2) Should support multiple lines
(via either one device or via one device per line).
3) Should use industry standard protocols, cards, and/or voice-modems.
4) Should use PCI or USB card (if applicable)
5) Should be WIN & WIN/NT compatible (LINUX compatibility is also
desirable)
6) Modem/FAX support is optional.

Do you currently have such a product ?
If not, would it require a "major effort" to develop one for us ?

BTW, your "sales@dialogic.com" link in
http://www.dialogic.com/banners/5787web.htm
is a bad link.

Regards,
