Subject: From: Date: | SDK VR ECS(W) LEC1964.aol.com Thu, 20 Aug 1998 04:06:03 EDT |
ECS Users Group,
Is anyone using SDK VR (ECS VR) with Windows? I have not been successful
in training the ECS version. However, I was able to train the original
Microsoft SDK version very successfully and a Creative Labs VR program so I am
sure my microphone and sound card work together fairly well.
If I recall correctly, within the VR (ECS) window you can select "Train"
and the options are "General", "Lexicon", "Microphone" and "Help". "General"
brings up a two tab folder for training and performance settings. As near as I
can tell "Lexicon" and "Microphone" are unresponsive. "Help" brings up a short
information page.
Since I had gone through a training session with the original version it
was apparent that some setup features were unavailable with ECS, especially
for setting the microphone levels (volume). I'm not sure I know where the
problem is at and if there's someone that has been successful it must be
something I'm doing wrong.
I might mention, that if the original SDK VR is any indication, "ECS VR"
should be a very good voice recognition program.
Thanks, Larry C.
