We have not used/tested this software extensively, but it appears to work satisfactorily. However, it is somewhat sluggish with modem connections (28K/56K baud). See www.famatech.com for download/installation instructions. To establish connection manually On the "Server" (ECS) PC: 1.. Connect to your ISP. 2.. Run REMOTE ADMINISTRATION SERVER (R SERVER.EXE). 3.. Run \WINDOWS\WINIPCFG to get the IP address assigned to this ISP connection (a new address is assigned for every connection). On the "Client" (remote) PC: 1.. Run REMOTE ADMINISTRATION VIEWER (RADMIN.EXE). 2.. Click OK (if unregistered). 3.. Click CONNECT TO. 4.. Enter the IP Address (obtained above) at the HOST ADDRESS prompt and click OK. 5.. After a delay (while display data is being collected), the Server's PC screen will be displayed. 6.. When you are done: 1.. Disconnect the Server (ECS) PC. 2.. Close the Viewer window. 3.. Select the "REMOTE ADMINISTRATOR" window and delete the connection icon for the IP address (unless you wish to use RADMIN again with this connection). To establish connection with ECS/ECS.CFG Note: Prior to attempting a remote connection, you must first modify the POSTIE command in R SERVER0.BAT (on the ECS PC), such that it will email to an account which is accessible from your remote PC. On the "Client" (remote) PC: 1.. Call ECS and enter the macro "50". ECS will then hangup and execute R SERVER0.BAT, which will: 1.. Dial/connect to your ISP. 2.. Run the REMOTE ADMINISTRATION SERVER (R SERVER.EXE). 3.. Determine the IP Address assigned to this ISP connection. 4.. Create a batch file (RADMIN.BAT) which will connect to this IP Address. 5.. Email RADMIN.BAT to the remote PC. 2.. Connect to your ISP and check your email until you receive the RADMIN.BAT message from ECS. 3.. Click "RADMIN.BAT" and "OPEN". This will execute RADMIN.BAT, which will run the Viewer and connect to the appropriate IP Address. 4.. After a delay (while display data is being collected), the Server's (ECS) PC screen will be displayed. 5.. When you are done: 1.. Set the "R SERVER Disconnect" Item to True. This will cause ECS to execute R SERVER1.BAT (to terminate R SERVER and disconnect) and reset Phone-Interface-C. 2.. Close the Viewer window

Accessing your PC via the Internet (RADMIN)
"RADMIN" is a $25 shareware program from Famatech (www.famatech.com) which may be used to access a remote PC via the Internet. We have not used/tested this software extensively, but it appears to work satisfactorily. However, it is somewhat sluggish with modem connections (28K/56K baud).See www.famatech.com for download/installation instructions.
To establish connection manually
On the "Server" (ECS) PC:On the "Client" (remote) PC:
- Connect to your ISP.
- Run REMOTE ADMINISTRATION SERVER (R SERVER.EXE).
- Run \WINDOWS\WINIPCFG to get the IP address assigned to this ISP connection (a new address is assigned for every connection).
- Run REMOTE ADMINISTRATION VIEWER (RADMIN.EXE).
- Click OK (if unregistered).
- Click CONNECT TO.
- Enter the IP Address (obtained above) at the HOST ADDRESS prompt and click OK.
- After a delay (while display data is being collected), the Server's PC screen will be displayed.
- When you are done:
- Disconnect the Server (ECS) PC.
- Close the Viewer window.
- Select the "REMOTE ADMINISTRATOR" window and delete the connection icon for the IP address (unless you wish to use RADMIN again with this connection).
To establish connection with ECS/ECS.CFG
Note: Prior to attempting a remote connection, you must first modify the POSTIE command in R SERVER0.BAT (on the ECS PC), such that it will email to an account which is accessible from your remote PC.On the "Client" (remote) PC:
- Call ECS and enter the macro "50". ECS will then hangup and execute R SERVER0.BAT, which will:
- Dial/connect to your ISP.
- Run the REMOTE ADMINISTRATION SERVER (R SERVER.EXE).
- Determine the IP Address assigned to this ISP connection.
- Create a batch file (RADMIN.BAT) which will connect to this IP Address.
- Email RADMIN.BAT to the remote PC.
- Connect to your ISP and check your email until you receive the RADMIN.BAT message from ECS.
- Click "RADMIN.BAT" and "OPEN". This will execute RADMIN.BAT, which will run the Viewer and connect to the appropriate IP Address.
- After a delay (while display data is being collected), the Server's (ECS) PC screen will be displayed.
- When you are done:
- Set the "R SERVER Disconnect" Item to True. This will cause ECS to execute R SERVER1.BAT (to terminate R SERVER and disconnect) and reset Phone-Interface-C.
- Close the Viewer window
