Don,
Actually my new listing is OH00286 and yes I renamed the file as appropriate : OH00286.chn
and the TVL.BAT line reads
TVL.BAT OH00286 8 1.
As for the "*" those are in the OH00286.chn file.

Tom:
Are you using TZ-? or MDXXXX for the time zone argument? Did you rename your TX-?.CHN
to
MDXXXX.CHN?
The "*" simply indicate favorites in the TV-Guide.

Alright, just when I had everything going just great w/ TVL I went and found another
listing that has the exact cable listing for my area, every single channel!!!
So, off I go to set it up and I run into a small problem. My channels don't seem
to be filtering properly. Here is an example of the chn file:
*02 2WDTN
*03 3WXIX
*06 5WLWT
*57 6TBS
*58 7PAXSAT
77 8RELIG
BTW the listing on Excite uses the channel # and the call letters so 2WDTN is how
it's listed there.
However, all of the channels show up in TV-Guide w/ the Excite channel # not my
filtered #
For example TBS shows up as channel 6 not channel 57
And all of the channels show up even the ones w/o "*"'s.
Any ideas?
Tom
