Mark G (and anyone else who is working/using TV Guide stuff)

I've got the TV-Guide and TV-Listings stuff all working OK. Now I want to
set up my A/V system to actually be "controlled" by these events.

The way I interpret what EXAMPLE.CFG says about the physical hook-up of Mark
G's system is:

1. There are two "sources" of video: CABLE tv box, or CBAND sat rcvr
2. Connections are RF (standard coax with "F" fittings at antenna inputs)
not via RCA plugs or S-video cables and the equipment is connected like
this:
Cable tv box ---> C-band rcvr --> VCR ---> TV
3. TV station is "fixed" to channel 3 or 4 (whatever vcr output is set to)
4. VCR channel is "fixed" to channel 3 or 4 (whatever cable box is set to)
5. All tv channel changes are made ONLY to the cable tv box
6. VCR is powered on at all times
7. CBAND receiver input is set to TV to watch tv shows from cable box; or
SAT to watch C-BAND
8. If C-BAND rcvr is powered off, signal from cable box still passes
through it

Is this correct???

The reason I ask is that I have no cable tv box (decoder or otherwise) so if
I want to watch a particular tv channel, I change the TV channel. If I want
to record a particular tv channel, I must first set the channel on the VCR,
then record. If I want to record a C-band program, I must change the input
of the VCR to Line 1, then record (vcr has 3 choices for its "input"
signal::: Tuner, Line 1, Line 2)......

I'm in a little bit of a quandry here... Since I have a "Home Theatre"
system, I don't really want to re-cable everything to go daisy-chain style
through each other (induces noise and degrades video signals) but am at a
bit of a loss as to how I should go about modifying the code.......

I do already have a working "C-Band" channel change/set event since my
receiver is a little "odd" and will have to patch that into the event
instead of using mark's code for that......I have done nothing about working
out the best way to do vcr record or tv watch events..

Any suggestions anyone?
