Don (you "wanker", you :-)),
This is usually caused by another program
"competing" with the CPU during TTS.
TVL3 (favorite processing) and/or TVL4
(TV-guide processing) could be the culprit.
TVL3 is executed every 5 minutes and TVL4
every half-hour.
