Bill,
I was wondering if that would work. Radio Shack also has a off/on hook
detector with a simple light. That should work too, wouldn't you think-as
long as the output doesn't pose a threat to the HV port, right?
Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,
I went to Radio Shack and bought the little "telephone recorder" control
device... You plug it into any telephone line and it will turn "on" the
motor control line of any cassette recorder... I simply connected that to
one of my digital inputs.... The device only closes a circuit when it
detects "off hook"... (I didn't use the other part of the device, the part
which plugs into the microphone of a tape recorder.......)
