Larry, Again, please see TTS.HLP for speed settings.
I know of no current or former SDK-related program
which allowed the setting of speed or gender.
Where did you see this ?

Now, let me clear up some confusion regarding VR.EXE:
The train menus are NOT displayed/processed by VR.EXE
directly, but by the installed SDK. I suspect you
downloaded a NEWER SDK (verus the one specified in
ECS.TXT), which supports different training menus.
Assuming this, you might want to re-install the old SDK.
This might also might be related to the poor TTS
quality you are experiencing.
