Mark,
     I have just completed the download and installation of ECS using your new
Windows "setup" interface. It is very impressive. The "Wizard Shield" and all
aspects of the installation went flawlessly. Very Nice.
     The installation started with a formatted hard drive, followed by the
Windows install, the SDK install, the addition of my autoexec.bat and
Config.sys files, a new sub directory "programs\ecs" was created and I added
to it my ecs.cfg and "appropriate".dt files, and finally the windows
installation of ECS. Everything works from ground zero.
     After all this, I have to mention one thing, if I attempt to start ECS
from the Start Menu, ECS "stalls" during the initialization phase. It is
repeatable and an unrecoverable situation. Ctrl-Alt-Del is necessary to abort.
There are two options for starting ECS in the Start Menu. One is a standard
"shortcut" with a dropdown menu. The other is a folder to access the
Omnipotence window. Both produce the same results. I also should mention that
there is no problem in starting ECS from the Desktop. If you look at the
"shortcut Target" for the Start Menu they are exactly same as for the Desktop.
With my limited knowledge of Windows, I would have to say, it makes very
little sense. I have made Start Menu shortcuts for DOS applications before.
It's a relatively simple task that works.
     Any ideas?
