Subject: From: Date: | ECS <-> voicemail A.J. Griglak Fri, 21 Jan 2000 13:04:07 -0500 |
I have a home based business. It is important that I get voicemail quickly.
I have been using Symantec TalkWorks for a while but have grown tired of it
and its problems. I am now testing a (so far) great program called Call
Attendant Pro (www.objectworld.com)
I need a voicemail program that will forward new messages to my cell phone.
It should take the message, then dial my cell phone and play the message for
me (possibly alerting me of the Caller ID info). I also need the ability to
receive faxes, although I don't require notification of faxes. Call
Attendant Pro is looking quite good, but I was wondering if this could be
possible using ECS. I have yet to get ECS and the modem working yet - I've
only spent about 3 minutes tinkering with that, but ECS is working for X-10
stuff.
I know that the Commstar is the recommended modem for ECS, but I've just
bought a 3COM voice modem (http://www.buy.com/comp/product.asp?SKU=10019978)
based upon the recommended equipment for Call Attendant. If anyone has
insight into using this modem with ECS, I would appreciate it.
I will have a cable modem hooked up to this voicemail/ECS machine, so I
don't need to use the modem for internet access.
Also, in the future, I'd like to implement a two-line, two-modem setup for
business and personal phone messages - is this possible with ECS?
Thanks in advance,
-=A.J.
