Tim,
You can download Red Hat's version at www.redhat.com. ALTHOUGH, I spent the
$30 and bought the CD because I was having trouble getting the 2nd half of
the installer to download from the net during the install (plus I was
loading more than one machine, yada yada..). If you're doing a "duel"-boot,
then you can download all the files to a FAT partition and install from
there. You'll still have to make the startup disks though.
Also, if you're new to Linux, I'd get the administrator's guide from
O'Reilly (sp?) at you're local book store. It is a HUGE help if you get
lost. Check out the security section since the machine will be on the net.

Kind of off topic, but I am wanting to try out linux myself. Not to program
though, just want to play with the operating system. I eventually want to
set up an old 486/33 as a internet gateway for the home network.
I was wonder where I can download Linux, and where I can learn about it. I
tried www.linux.org but it seemed confusing to me.
Thanks
