I have an HAI RC-80.. It has to be polled for any information.. It
doesn't do any status updates to ecs because the thermostat just
doesn't send the information out. So if you want to do something
based on if the hvac is running, or the current inside temp, you
have to poll the therm then react.. Still easily enough done, but
kinda annoying... It is a little slow for communications if you poll
the thermostat for ALL settings, it takes me about a minute to get
all settings.. individual settings are pretty much unnoticeable.
Setting items are real fast and unnoticable as well.. Over all I like
it, but it depends on how you are planning on utilizing it.
