Works well its downside is as you pointed out the illumination needed and
also I can not get more than about 45 ft. range.

An off topic question.  Has anyone looked into the 2.4 GHz cameras.  X10.com
has one for $80 plus a $40 store credit bonus.  Not too bad if the camera is
decent.

It only has 38 degree viewing, 310 lines of res, and (f1.8) illumination?
