RE: [ECS] NT printer sharing question (non-ECS)

The first thing I would try is to setup the printer driver files on the
client computer as if the printer was attached to it (LPT1:). Then, right
click on the printer in Control Panel/Printers, click on Properties,
Details. Then click on Capture printer port and pull down the box to select
LPT2. Manually type in the Path, and make sure Reconnect at Logon is
checked. Then make sure that [LPT2: \\Server\printer] shows up in the port
box.

If not, reply to me directly - we'll figure something out ;-)

Subject: [ECS] NT printer sharing question (non-ECS)

I set up my ECS on a separate NT system. Since it is always on, I would
like to
have my printer on it and let my computer and my wife's computer access the
printer that way. She would not have to worry about my computer being on at
that point. I set up the NT box with the printer and it works. I set it up
to
share it and that seems to work as Norton Utilities shows it as a printer
being
shared. However, when I go to my W95 machine, I see the NT, can mount the
NT's
shared drives, but I can not see any printers on it.

Does anybody have any ideas here? I have set the permissions of the printer
sharing to let anybody use it.

Much thanks
Dan Carrington
