I was able to change the event so that it reads the show and channel number. As far as the DITV.CHN file, a perfect example happened last night. I have "Everybody Loves Raymond" set up as an announced favorite. At 8:55, ECS read off Everybody Loves Raymond twice for each of the CBS channels that are now carried by Direct TV - probably about 10 of them (message spoke twenty times). Then at 9:55, ECS read off a bunch more for all the Central Time Zone stations... I realize that I can change the channel in the TVLFAVS.TXT to WCBS (which is what I did after my wife heard Everybody Loves Raymond twenty times...;-) Also, where are the four-digit channel numbers coming from? I HAVE read ECS.HTM and have edited the DITV.CHN file. As an example, here is a snippet from my DITV.CHN file: 728 NBAP9 729 NBAP10 730 NBAP11 731 NBAP12 732 NBAP13 733 NBAP14 720 NBATV 721 NBAP2 722 NBAP3 723 NBAP4 724 NBAP5 725 NBAP6 726 NBAP7 727 NBAP8 Yet, here is a snippet from the TV-GUIDE.TXT file: - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 721 NBAP2 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 722 NBAP3 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 723 NBAP4 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 724 NBAP5 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 725 NBAP6 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 726 NBAP7 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 727 NBAP8 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 728 NBAP9 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 729 NBAP10 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 730 NBAP11 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 731 NBAP12 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 732 NBAP13 NBA League Pass - 02/22 Tuesday 12:00P 120 733 NBAP14 NBA League Pass Is it possible to change the methodology of the ****.CHN files to be that an unlisted channel doesn't show up in the TV-GUIDE.TXT? -=A.J. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Gilmore [mailto:omnip@usit.net] Sent: Monday, February 21, 2000 8:54 AM To: ecs-list@netbloc.com Subject: Re: [ECS] TVL stuff Hi AJ, Order is not important, but formatting is CRITICAL (see ECS.HTM). Only those chans which exist in .CHN and which are NOT marked will be filtered. See TVL Event to kill 2nd announcement. -- Mark Gilmore Omnipotence (ECS home automation software) http://www.usit.com/omnip 423-745-0026 > A.J.
