by "leaves me hanging", do you mean you're still connected to the internet? if you type
"START /W RASDIAL /DISCONNECT" from a dos window when
connected to the internet, will it hang you up?
on a related note, i've set up my machine so that it automatically disconnects from
the net after 5 minutes without activity. this is helpful when something
doesn't quit as planned...
