Subject: From: Date: | New to ECS and X10 Dennis Fenske Thu, 24 Feb 2000 18:02:31 -0800 |
Hello,
I recently purchased ECS, CPU-XA, SECU-16 and some X10 stuff. I am
trying to familiarize myself with everything. Using the included Cmax
software, I programmed the CPU-XA with the following to see if things
were communicating. The SECU-16 seems to be communicating with the
CPU-XA because the "Comms" lights are flashing 'really fast' all the
time and when I send an X10 signal, the X10 and Active lights flash.
If Module#1/Point# 0 is ON
Then Module #1/Point# 11 Turns ON
If X10 H/1 is received
Then transmit X10 F/1
End of Program
I have a 1K resistor across the inputs of Module#1/Point# 0. I short
out the input with a screwdriver across the resistor (simulating a
contact closure). Nothing happens.
If I send X10 H/1, the CPU-XA appears to be receiving the information,
however, nothing else happens. X10 F/1 does not appear to be sent.
I suppose I am doing something wrong, but I don't know what. Can anyone
help?
What I want to do is close a relay on the SECU-16 when a relay closes or
if an X10 signal is received. If initiating relay opens, then I want
the relay on the SECU-16 to open. If the X10 signal to H/1 is removed,
then the F/1 signal is removed.
Based upon what I am discovering, and the operation of the Cmax
software, I am not sure I needed the ECS software (If someone thinks
differently, please explain). Either way, I will keep it in case it has
more power that I need later.
Thanks for any and all help,
Dennis Fenske
