Time item passing to ACE

I am  having trouble getting a button  in ACE configured to tell time from an item in
ECS. I configured a button as ECS active and turned monitoring ON. It is supposed to
be monitoring an item called Time in ECS which I defined as TIME ( present time). When
I first exit the configuration setup it does correctly set the time , but the problem
is that it does not automatically update every minute, even though in ECS if I monitor
that item it does change. I am using ECS 4.3.001please let me know how to do this if
