I am not having a resource problem either. There was a memory leak problem related to kernel32.dll (I think that is the file). Sorry to hear you are having problems. My system doesn't have that problem that you have described. However, I do have a weird memory thing with MS Speech SDK 4.0 where the free memory continually decrements down to somewhere between 300 and 600K then jumps back up to 2meg and starts all over again. Regardless, I never seem to run out of resources. It's been several days since I have rebooted, and my available resources are as follows: System Resources: 77% User Resources: 77% GDI Resources: 94% Could there be some other program you are using that is causing problems? What version of Windows95 are you running? I vaguely seem to remember some sort of memory leak problem with TCP/IP I think, that was fixed with one of the updates. Anybody else have any ideas? Cheers! I installed ECS-lite 2 days ago and have noticed a few problems with the windows version, but they all may be related on one root cause. I had installed 3.4.021, but am now using 3.4.024. I noticed this problem in both versions. The main problem I have found is that ECS eventually chews up all the system and GDI resources. I first found this with First Aid warning me of low resources. Using the resource meter in W95, I determined when the resources are getting eaten. The easiest way do to it is to edit an event, accept and save. Then start switching between the group, events, items, and message screens continuously. You should see your resources start to take a nose dive, eventually going to zero. Later experiments show the resources being eaten just by switching between the different screens, as well as the different entries in the different areas. It may also happen during event processing since the resources slowly decline even when no input is given to the program. If I quit ECS, the resources return to their original levels. Now, the other problems I have may be related...Sometimes the whole computer reboots out of the blue when I do something in ECS. It is may be because the resources have gone to zero. Other times ECS just dies. I don't mean freezing, I mean the windows disappear. System seems stable, though. And finally, something (don't know what) causes ECS to go into a continuous redraw cycle and "ding" the system default sound. There is no way to get out of ECS once this happens. Pressing "ESC" stops it, but displays many error boxes that say "Error SC" or something like that. Anyway, the pressing issue seems to be the System resources. I just tried it again and my resources are down to 38% from 65% when I started. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks Troy Carpenter troy.carpenter@arris-i.com
