Subject: From: Date: | ECS 4.3.003 Error freemanb.us.ibm.com Sat, 11 Mar 2000 19:39:17 -0600 |
Mark:
Two Items:
1) I'm attempting to upgrade to 4.3.003 and have experienced a problem
which I believe may be related to the HAI Thermostat support. I get an
"invalid selection" error message related to the Initial State of the
Calibration Offset variable, this is subsequently followed by an invalid
page fault in Windows 98.
This worked fine in 4.2.009.
The following information may be of assistance in shooting this bug:
ECS PROBLEM REPORT
------------------
Exact error message reported by ECS:
ERROR:Value 0 is invalid selection (Item "DS:Calib Offset")
Detailed (step-by-step) instructions on how to reproduce problem:
Attempting to upgrade to 4.3.003 from 4.2.009 ECS.
Above error message flashes on screen during ECS initialization.
Error is followed immediately by ECS-generated invalid page fault.
Item definition related to the problem:
Item:DS:Calib Offset Type:HVAC-Setting-B
Acc:User/User
Initial State:(none)
Backup:No
Station # :1
Setting :Calibration Offset
Name/model of the device related to problem:
HAI RC-100 Thermostat (there are two on the same serial port)
Other pertinent details (please be VERY specific):
W98 reported error information follows:

2) The attempted/failed upgrade to 4.3.003 was in order to see whether a
problem I have also having with ADI I/O devices in ECS Ver. 4.2 has been
corrected. That problem involves ECS' support of the SECU-16I device. I
am unable to get proper function of digital inputs for inputs numbered 9
through 15 (1 through 8 work as expected). Inputs 9 through 15 work OK as
analog inputs, but ECS does not detect "ON" to "OFF" transitions when these
inputs are configured as Digital inputs in ECS. The SECU-16I jumpering
does not effect the function.
Let me know if you need any additional information regarding either
problem.

Bill Freeman
