Subject: From: Date: | An old newbie - quick question William C Biggs MD Sat, 25 Mar 2000 23:33:12 -0600 |
Clear DayHello all,
I am still using my trusty ECS for DOS, but I have decided to make the leap
into Windows.
I have ECS 4.304 up and running, and I must say I am impressed. LOTS of new
features here, and it looks very stable so far. I am still using the DOS
machine as the "production" system, but I hope to migrate to Windows within
the next month as I get all the items and events debugged.
Right now I am having problems getting voice out my modem. I am using the
Microsoft SDK "Mary" voice, and she sounds fine via the SoundBlaster.
The modem (Zoom Voice faxmodem VFP 14.4V - purchased with the group a year
or so ago) connects fine to other sites. The pager function for instance
works fine outside of giving a parity warning after the page is completed.
I'm just not getting any sound through the modem. I tried sending text to
the modem in a phone call event , by using speak, speak PC, speak PC/W,
speak PC:sp, speak PC:ln , etc.
What am I doing wrong here.
Also, I tried putting a SET ECS_ADPCM_REV=1 in the autoexec.bat file too.
Any comments ?
Thanks !
Reddy Biggs
