Michael, Try this - using Phone-Box type items, set ECS up to answer on the 1st ring (ok, if you want CID info, it will have to be the second ring) and use a "ring killer" circuit to disable the phone ringing. The "default" mailbox would be activated for any caller-id that is either unknown to you, or out of area...The default mailbox answer message would be your "if you're a soliciter, take us off your list, if you are not a soliciter, press "1" now"...... Using Remote-Phone-Button item type, cause the local phones to ring if "1" was entered, otherwise, user leaves a message in your "1" mailbox... Yes, you'll have to build up two circuits: Ring-Kill (simple full wave bridge rectifier with relay control to "shunt" it out of circuit to allow outside calls to ring house phones) and Local-Phone Ring circuit (Stuart Silverman gave a link to a site with suggested circuits, and this site: http://www.sandman.com/tmstop.html has some really neat telephone gadgets. I just quickly looked over the site for a "local phone ringer" circuit. Didn't find anything but you might e-mail the site and see if they have such a gadget. Keep us posted with your results!!
