No, I'm just using Win98... no other shell.  It seems to be caused by Winamp
2.5 running (Not even playing) that is causing the problems.  STRANGE, cause
it's been that way for months...  In fact, I haven't even used Winamp in the
past two weeks!

aj - are you using any alternate command shell? i found that i couldn't use
the 4NT/4DOS enhanced command line shell on my ECS machine because of the
way that ecs spawns executed items. what happens if you start the machine
with nothing running and just type, from a command line, "start
notepad.exe"?
