Subject: From: Date: | ecs monitor a file paul venables Mon, 8 May 2000 09:55:29 -0700 |
let me better explain my problem.i am still using the dos version of ecs 3.4
ok..so what i want to do is if the garage door is opened and i am not home
have ecs log that message (the door has been opened)
i have an in home lan setup then have (ecs windows) monitor that log file
through the network for any change.if there is a change excute an event that
compiles a text line to be excuted eg..
( postie -s:test -file:cell.txt -host:xxx.xxx.net -to:xxx@xxx -from:xxx@xxx
)
all info contained in (cell.txt)would be sent directly to my cell phone.
then the file cell.txt would get cleared out ready for the next message.
i am connected to the internet via adsl.
any idea's
thanks in advance
