FW: [ECS] Bug in ECSW - System resources eaten up

Hi all,

Here is an update I just sent to the list, but I could not attach my ECS.CFG
file because it was rejected by the mail server. I am behind a firewall so I
cannot make the file available on my own. If someone knows of a place where I
can put the file for everyone to see, please email me and let me know.

Troy

Ok, got the Libretto home and instantly duplicated the problem on it. I have
attached my ecs.cfg file to this email because that is the only thing different
from earlier (oh, besides the fact that the PLC interface is actually connected
now).

Here's what I did. I took the ecs34021.zip file from a few days ago. Unzipped
it and installed it on the Libretto into the "Program Files/ecs" directory. I
then took my ECS.CFG file (attached) from my original computer and put it on
the Libretto. I then hooked up the PLC (a CM11A) and ran ECS. I went to an
event (Alarm-Clock) and changed a comment line, F5, F6, then sat there and
pressed F1, F2, F3 & F4 in random order. I forgot to mention I had the
"Resource Meter" running (Start/Accessories/System Tools/Resource Meter).
After a bit of pressing the function keys, the System & GDI resources fall at
the same rate. I just took the Libretto from 80% free to 21% free in less than
a minute. Remember I run ECS in Lite mode.

My ECS.CFG file is taken from the LITE.CFG included in the archive. I gutted
all non-supported items and added my own modules and things into the file. I
have added my own routines upon the existing ones I decided to keep. While I
would welcome comments on my programming style, keep in mind I have only done
it for 3 days now and still am learning the tricks of what will execute under
what conditions.

I hope with my ECS.CFG someone else can duplicate this quickly and convince me
I am not just blowing smoke here.

Thanks,
Troy Carpenter
