RE: [ECS] ECS 4.4.001 Release (Part 2)

Mark,

Actually the instructions are correct for IE 5. I'm now using IE 4 on my
remote computer, and it works fine as well. IE 3.02 would not work for me,
even after updating the Java VM. IE 4 isn't too terrible on my 75Mhz
pentium.

One thing I noticed with this new release - The last beta I had would let
you edit the the events via the web interface as well, but I dont see this
with 4.4.001. Am I missing something?

Also, I've been playing around with the html. I created a group with a
single item, a light, and when I browse to that group I look at the html
code. It looks like the message line that displays on the window is done
with a java applet, and the item name and state and icon is created by
another applet. When you move the cursor over the item, you can select
another item, and when you move the cursor over the state, you can select
another state.

I can duplicate the applet at other positions and so forth, but here is my
question. Is there some way to get just the current state of an item in-line
with html?

For example, let's say I create a simple html page that says "The light is
currently " and then add some code that will inserts the current state at
the end of the line. I don't want the item name, or the ability to change
the state (yet). :)

Is there anyway to get some insight on the java code?

Hi Martin,
Glad you like :-).
I am running IE5 - what setup info are you referring to
(which "doesn't follow" IE5) ?
Thanks,
