Hi David, I’m using a JDS Time Commander Plus. I have the main unit and two slaves. I wouldn’t recommend using this system, however. About once a month, it locks up. When I first encountered the problem, JDS said it was my program (it ran on the Time Commander). I eliminated their excuse when I started running ECS. Now, it (the Time Commander, not ECS) still freezes every month or so. In fact, I’ve proven that the Time Commander will lock up about once a month without running any loaded programs or device definitions. JDS still refuses to admit their BIOS is defective. Anyway, I want to move to a new ADICON CPU-XA or Ocelot, but haven’t taken the plunge yet. As far as the HVAC system, I’m using Bryant i90 plus furnaces. Geothermal doesn’t work so well in Utah where I live. As for Enerzone, are you thinking of using their flex dampers? I used them. The dampers are great. At least here, they helped get past having to have an access panel for each damper to comply with electrical codes. However, their pneumatic controls suck. Their air compressors/vacuums are well, I’d say mickey mouse, but then that would be derogative to Mickey. I had to completely rebuild their control system. I now have Enerzone control boxes with valves, tubing and compressors from companies that make better products. I like the dampers though. Good luck on your system. Unfortunately, I have one of these events for every zoned room in the house. If any of you know of a way to do this more elegantly, given what I have, let me know. I have a motion detector, analog temperature sensor and motorized damper for each room. My furnaces/AC units are microprocessor controlled. They sense the amount of air permitted through the system and adjust fan speed and heat/AC accordingly. This event has worked really well for me. It has cut my energy bills by an average of 43% annually. The event determines if someone is there and then adjusts the appropriate temperature for the room according to season and time of day.
