Subject: From: Date: | Re: [ECS] Thoughts on HotTub Temp Sensor freemanb.us.ibm.com Fri, 26 May 2000 09:45:47 -0400 |
I monitor a variety of temperature points using a "Hot Little Therm" (see
www.spiderplant.com). Once I had this up and running (via serial-byte
support), I went to one of the local hot tup/pool suppliers and purchased a
temperature monitoring fitting for the pvc plumbing of the tub. This
fitting allows for small brass "well" to extend into the circulating flow.
The electronic sensor goes into this well and doesn't itself have to be
waterproof. ECS can monitor the temp of the tub to within a half degree
or so.

Subject: [ECS] Thoughts on HotTub Temp Sensor
Does anyone have a temp sensor for their HotTub? I had a recent fluke
where the temp went too high. The electric went off then on quickly and
the temp sensor stuck. This was all while it was going through it's
morning cycle. I could have thrown in a few vegetables and made soup.
My thought was to put a sensor in a pvc tube and throw in something to give
it some weight and cap it at both ends..... then drop it in the water.
Anyone have any suggestions?
