Subject: From: Date: | ECS/LINUX testers wanted Mark Gilmore Sun, 11 Jun 2000 06:54:21 -0400 |
If you want to try out ECS/LINUX, please let me know
and I'll send you a copy. There's still some work to
be done (documentation, sound, TTS), but I think it
is stable enough to start testing.
I have read that you can RECORD sound-files via:
cat /DEV/AUDIO > {file}.au
and PLAYBACK via:
cat {file}.au > /DEV/AUDIO
So for now, you could create TEXT Items with the desired commands.
Note that I can't test this, as my sound card is not supported by
LINUX. So please let me know how it works.
WARNING: ECS/LINUX does NOT support Group-Item sizing,
positioning, or icon selection (it assigns these for you).
So if you use ECS/LINUX to save a Group created with ECS/WIN,
then these parameters will be "lost". So either use a
dedicated .CFG or refrain from editing Groups with ECS/LINUX.
Later...
