Bug in ECSW - System resources eaten up - Fixed
Troy Carpenter
Tue, 25 Aug 1998 12:48:27 -0400

I am happy to report that the latest beta version appears to FIX the problem
with system resources. I tied the same scenario I used before to create the
problem and even saw the resources go UP 2% during the test! I will know
tonight when I put it on my real system. If you don't hear from me about
this, then take it as good news! (I'm glad this was fixed, I am going on
vacation tomorrow and would hate to have the system die because of this!)

Great Job, Mark. Thanks for the quick turn around!

Troy

Thanks to excellent diagnostic info from Troy, I was able
to quickly find/correct the resource-loss bug he reported.
The problem was that I failed to free up a graphics "object"
which I allocated for display of icon files (.ICNs) (dum).
This bug is applicable to all using ECS.EXE in graphics
mode, so you might want to download ecs/beta/ecs.zip
(give me a few minutes to upload).

Troy, you are a welcome asset.
