Hi Peter,
This routine changes to Ablank which only contains two items. My 
system resources goes from about 54% free on a busy group screen 
to 84% free on the almost blank screen.

 Then keybd actvty timer Set  30
 ;

 If keybd actvty timer Is Now  0
 And Active-Group  Is Not  Ablank
