Subject: From: Date: | Re: [ECS] Fw: DynaFace "Fault" Garry or Nancy viele Sat, 17 Jun 2000 11:19:53 -0400 |
Mark - If the TW-523 is bad, would it blink when I use the 4 button
controller? In other words I have a test lamp (only one) hooked up to an
x-10 device. I have a 4 button controller (PLC controller) and when I dim
or brighten the lamp the x-10 communication light on the dynaface blinks and
so does the light on the TW-523 AND the lamp dims or brightens. However
none of the ECS commands have any effect at all on anything. Since the
TW-523 was blinking (and thus receiving signals) I wondered if that was the
bad piece of hardware or is it the serial port in the computer not
communicating PROPERLY with the Dynaface? I say properly because the
communications light on the dynaface is lighted and when I disconnect the
telephone cable between the computer and the dynaface, the communications
light goes out.
Any suggestions (Oh by the way, I am trying ECS Lite rather than the DOS
version)
Thanks
Garry

Hi Gary,
If ECS is NOT reporting an error, I would suspect
that the REDAC has a hardware failure related to
X10 transmissions (perhaps a bad TW-523 ???).
But I would try the current version of ECS just
to see if it makes any diff.
BTW/FYI: I could not quote your original msg (???).
