I'm using a Belkin USB serial adapter. I've also tried a DIGI 4-port. The
DIGI would only work with a limited number of devices where the Belkin works
with about 90%. I've used it with modems, APC Ups's, Weather Stations
(Davis and Peet Bros) , a Homebase Deluxe HA unit and most PDA type of
devices such as Cassiopeia E115 and Palm Pilots.
Be aware however that some serial devices seem to want a true hardware
serial port and will not work reliably on a USB serial.
