Hello all,
ECS 4.2.005 has been released/uploaded and incorporates the changes
below.
Latest upgrade instructions are attached.

	4.4.005 (07/17/00)

    42)	The Main/Group/Event web pages now support STOP/RESUME buttons
	(to stop/resume Event processing).

    43)	The width of the web page selection-frame has been widened to
20%
(so as to help avoid wraps on long Item names).

    44)	If 10 consecutive invalid passwords are entered via a given IP
address, ECS now disables access from that address for 60 seconds.

    45)	If you right-click on a Group-Item window, a new menu selection
("EDIT THIS ITEM") will appear: If you click this selection, the
Item Editor will be displayed with that Item selected.

    46)	If you right-click on a Group-Item window, new menu selections
(under "EDIT EVENTS WHICH REFERENCE THIS ITEM") will appear:
If you click an Event name, the Event Editor will be displayed
	with that Event selected.

    47)	The max # of custom types is now 40 (up from 20).

    48)	The fillowing files have been renamed (so as to avoid confusion
	with Win help files):

		Old New
		------- ------------
		ITP.HLP ITP_HLP.TXT
		SR.HLP SR_HLP.TXT
		EDM.HLP EDM_HLP.TXT

    49)	Status messages denoting user-input errors are now cleared after
10 seconds (unless overwritten by another msg).

Downloading/Installing Updates
NOTES::
These procedures require WinZip or PKUNZIP (from PKWARE).

To obtain updated executables only (perhaps for a bug fix), download/unzip ECSEXE.ZIP.

To obtain the BETA for the next pending release, follow instructions #'s 3-8 below, but download ECSB.ZIP (instead of ECS.ZIP).

To obtain updates from the Internet:
  1. For ECS-Standard users: Email us for the current Authorization-Code (if you have not already received it from us). Without the proper code, ECS will run in Lite mode. One of the following upgrade charges apply, per your current version (also see note below):
ECS rev Charge to upgrade *
    1.0...3.3 $105
    3.4...4.0 $ 60
    4.1 $ 20
NOTE:: As we did not want to charge customers for features they don't use, we chose to use the "honor method" for the 4.4 upgrade charge (which featured the WWW interface): If you use the WWW interface, please send an additional amount as you deem appropriate.

These charges do NOT apply to those who purchased ECS in the last 6 months, or those who have have spent significant time beta testing (please remind us of this when requesting the code). If, for any reason, you feel that the charge should not apply to you, please let us know why and we will try to accommodate.

We do not require payment before providing the code (your notice of intent to pay is sufficient). Send payments to:

    Omnipotence
    604 County Rd 181
    Decatur, TN 37322
  2. For ECS-Lite users: One of the following upgrade charges apply, per your current version:
    ECS rev Charge to upgrade
    1.0...4.1 $80
    3.4...4.0 $40
    4.1 $10
See above for exceptions and address.

  3. Backup your existing ECS folder(s), in case a problem arises with the update.
WARNING: If you have customized ICONS.DEF or any icon image files, they MUST be backed up, as they will be overwritten during the install.

  4. Download ECS.ZIP into an empty folder.
NOTE: To create a new folder:
      1. From your Win DeskTop, click MY COMPUTER.
      2. Click the icon for your C: drive.
      3. If your new folder is to exist within another folder, then select that folder.
      4. Click FILE, NEW, and FOLDER.
      5. Enter the name of new folder.
      6. Close the Window.

  5. Unzip ECS.ZIP in that folder.

  6. From your Win DeskTop, click START, RUN, BROWSE, and select SETUP.EXE in the folder.

  7. If you had customized ICONS.DEF or any icon image files, restore your backed-up copies.

  8. CAREFULLY REVIEW THE UPDATES DESCRIBED IN UPD.TXT, AND MAKE ANY REQUIRED CHANGES.
