Yes. Right now, I have the capability of sending VCR:Power from ECS to the
VCR. ECS does not know the current state of the VCR, it just sends the
power command - toggling On/Off. A discrete On command would send the On
command ONLY - ie it would have no affect if the VCR power was already on.
Suppose you want ECS to record a show, but someone left the VCR off. It
won't record, because the VCR:Record will have no affect on the VCR.
I know there are discrete signals that can be sent to TVs, VCRs, etc. For
example, check out

These codes are for the Marantz Pronto remote. I was wondering if there are
similar codes we code program into ECS....
