Subject: From: Date: | Re: [ECS] Discrete IR signals? Bill Walters Wed, 26 Jul 2000 12:15:23 -0500 |
AJ,
It all depends upon the device you are trying to control. For
example, -most- sony devices have separate "power on" and "power off"
commands, as well as a generic "power" command which acts as a toggle, and
used in the remote supplied...
To gain access to possible discrete ir commands requires several steps. 1.
Purchase an "All for One" general purpose remote control. 2. Once you have
your remote, visit their web site: www.oneforall.com/index2.htm and visit
their section on "order advanced function codes"... You'll do a lot of
playing and experimenting, perhaps with success, perhaps not, as it all
depends upon the device you're trying to control...
In my case, my Mitsubishi TV did not have separate power on/off commands,
nor did it have separate commands to change to a specific input (Antenna 1,
Antenna 2, EXT-1, EXT-2, EXT-3) which was what I --really-- wanted.
I -did- find the power on and power off commands for my sony receiver
though... ;>}
