Subject: From: Date: | HTTP client question Mark Gilmore Wed, 02 Aug 2000 19:04:16 -0400 |
Hi all,
In attempting to write a Linux version of WPDL
(web-page download utility), I have run into a
STRANGE problem:
When my "HTTP client" logic requests a tv-guide page from
"movies.excite.com" (note: this is the REAL host for tv.excite.com):
GET /listing/?date=20000803&time=000000&cat=&lineup=C-BAND HTTP/1.0
Connection: Keep-Alive
Accept: text/*
User-Agent: WPDL
I get this response:
HTTP/1.0 200 OK
Server: Netscape-Enterprise/2.01
Date: Wed, 02 Aug 2000 22:52:27 GMT
Set-cookie: ZIPMOVIES=none; path=/; domain=.excite.com;
expires=Thursday, 02-Aug-01 18:52:27 EST
Set-cookie: registered=no; path=/; domain=.excite.com;
expires=Wednesday, 31-Dec-2010 12:00:00 GMT
Set-cookie: UID=51BA952B3988A602; path=/; domain=.excite.com;
expires=Wednesday, 31-Dec-2010 12:00:00 GMT
Content-length: 0
Content-type: text/html
Note the ZERO-length content.
If I enter NO query ("?...") parameters
(e.g. "wpdl movies.excite.com"), then all works fine.
Any clues ?
Thanks,
