Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] phone-interface-c and external speaker Mark Sekelsky Fri, 28 Aug 1998 15:55:56 -0500 |
Mark,
Since my knowledge on the workings of modems is almost zippo I would
certainly be the last one to try and say exactly what is wrong. However, it
would seem to me that if it were a hardware problem I would have the problem
right away as opposed to it always creeping up only after several days of
use. I am fairly sure that had the same problem with my old modem as well.
To verify this, I will try running on that modem for a few days to see what
happens.

Mark, I suspect a hardware problem, as the code
ALWAYS sets the modem for line & speaker output
while answering. You can see this command "AT#VLS=4"
during answer via ctrl-x.
I suspect that F5 only APPEARS to "fix" the problem,
when in actuality it is an intermitent problem
unrelated to ECS. Not also that the phn-answer rtn
resets the modem after answering.
