Hi Larry!
How are you interfacing the phone to your sound card?
Cheers!

Carl,
I'm glad to see someone else working on VR.
"Voice-Command" does not verbally verify. Mark has indicated that any
verbal verification must be done through an event. I have not worked with
Voice-Session to see if it can verbally verify. It also may require an event
to issue the verification.
As far as I can tell you cannot wake up VR by voice if it's in the
"sleep" state. I believe you will have to use an event to set
"Voice-Session"
to Wake. Possibly as a result of an X-10 keypad entry. I will have to sort
out
Inactive/Sleep, Inactive and Active/Sleep, Active. I don't know what these
mean. Maybe one of them will place VR in a "light" sleep where all commands
are ignored with the exception of the wake up command.
What I found, as to the "Voice-Command", was this. The very first
"Voice-
Command" I created required no acknowledge. The control activated
immediately.
If I set it to require one, this also worked fine using the the acknowledge
command as directed. This is where it gets really strange. If I set Verify
to
NO and remove the Acknowledge "WORD" it still continued to require the
Acknowledge. If you "Create" other Voice-Commands from it, they also require
the Acknowledge command. The later of which I think should be expected.
To get a Voice-Command that requires no Acknowledge "create" one from
any
item except from an existing Voice-Command "type". You will be able to
create
others from it that require no acknowledgement. There is another way to
create
a new Voice-Command. You highlight "type", press the "?" key, select Voice-
Command from the Item-List, and press the "Enter" key. Creating the item by
this method gives some possible clues. Both the Command and Acknowledge have
"Minute timer set to" as "entry" requirements. This may have something to do
with not being able to revert back to a non Acknowledge state. Sometimes, if
I
can work around it, I address more immediate problems. I'll try to sort this
out later.
VR is the way I would like to go as far as directing ECS. Currently I
am
using a 900 Mhz, spread spectrum, cordless, phone. No microphones are in
use.
It is really slick to ask for the time or for the front floods lights while
standing out in the middle of the front yard and have it happen.
