Larry,
I was beginning to think the ECS list was a VR-free zone!
It's the real automation for me. Nothing replaces motion detectors,
relays and such but the future is phrase based VR. I'm going to try your
techniques for Voice Command items to try to get rid of the
acknowledgement
problem. What a hassle to have to make events to verify or initiate VR.
What is the point of using VR that you have to start and end any other
way than
with your voice? The phone solution sounds great for outdoor use etc.,
but how does that work? Is it a speakerphone? I wasn't aware VR was
available
over the phone in ECS. I'm currently checking out HAL2000. They sent me
an early ver.
(1.02) that has very bad recognition. Still the possibilities for a VR
sucker like me
of HAL front-ending ECS are amazing. Hal really needs some training
routines added
to it. The ECS VR is much better at recog. than most anything else i've
tried,
but how many lines of code will it take to find out whats on the
Discovery channel
at 7:00pm? Or get movie listings, sports scores etc, read or displayed
for you?
I'll let you know how it goes. Again thanks for writing.
Later,
Carl
