Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] background rec beta Mark Sekelsky Sat, 29 Aug 1998 16:21:29 -0500 |
Mark,
Are you saying that with the background recording I can abort the recording
by picking up the phone (similar to a regular answering machine)? If so is
this the local phone only or any phone on the line? Is it "automatic" (ECS
"watches" for the phone to be picked up and aborts without any event lines
for such)?

Subject: [ECS] background rec beta
DEAR BETA TESTERS,
I am ABOUT to upload ftp.gallops.com/ecs/beta/ecs.zip,
which will incorporate the following changes.
#82 REQUIRES MUCHO TESTING (thanks).
This upload does NOT apply to ECSD/ECST.
3.4.025 (uploaded to ftp on ???)
----------------------------------------------------------------
8/29/98:
81) In the Item Editor, Types which are NOT supported under the
applicable operating system (W95 or DOS) are suppressed from
the Item Type response-list (e.g. SPEECH-INTERFACE-A will not
appear in ECS.EXE, and SPEECH-INTERFACE-B will not appear in
ECSD.EXE/ECST.EXE).
* 82) A new State (ANSWER/NW) is now supported for the PHONE-ANSWER
Type: If such an Item is set to ANSWER/NW (no-wait), ECS will
record the caller's message in the "background" while continuing
other tasks. During this background recording, the State of the
PHONE-ANSWER and PHONE-INTERFACE-C Items will be RECORDING.
(note that RECORDING is also a new State for these Types).
Background recording may be aborted by picking up the phone,
setting the applicable PHONE-ANSWER Item to "DO NOT ANSWER", or
setting the PHONE-INTERFACE Item to RESET. Any other attempts
to access PHONE-INTERFACE-C will trigger an error message.
This State is not supported by ECSD/ECST.
The following phrases have been added to SF.DIR:
ANSWER/NW
RECORDING
The following phrase has been added to VR.CMD:
ANSWER/NW
