I am STILL having problems with ECS recording phone messages. I bought the
'official' Zoom Comstar because I thought that was the reason for these
problems.
I am having two problems - one is annoying, the other one could be costing
me money. I own a business and use ECS to answer the business line. I am
usually out of the office, so it's essential that I get messages forwarded
to me.
The first problem is that when callers hang up without leaving a message,
ECS will record a blank message, and notify me that I have new messages. As
I said, this is more annoying than anything else, but it's bad when I have
to stop what I'm doing to take a call from ECS only to find out that someone
called and hung up.
The other problem - (and this one I would LOVE to have some help with!) is
that ECS doesn't always detect when a caller has finished speaking, and will
record until it times out. However, when I listen to the message, there IS
NO message. Yesterday I had about 6 messages like this. Now, I have to
call all these people and ask what their message was.... EMBARRASING
Does the Windows modem driver affect ECS' phone operation? What can I do
track down the cause of these problems? I have tried to reset the Phone
Interface C every hour, but it still acts like this - the only way to fix
this is to reboot the system.
