I don't consider it anything special ;-) PIII 500, 192 MB SDRAM, Cable modem, Zoom Comstar 56K on Com2, the other 'Rockwell based - Rockwell ACF 336' modem on Com3, 3COM 10/100 XL NIC, Trident AGP video card. Software - Win98SE, ECS 4.4.006, Dimension 4 time synch program (www.thinkman.com/~thinkman), Winamp 2.64. The "no message" happens whenever the time limit is reached when recording a message. ECS will record the message, but never hang up until the time limit is reached. Then when I listen to the message, it will give the CID info, then instantly say Playback complete. Yes, the same thing happened with the other modem. I am thinking of switching this machine over to Win2000 - I'm using W2K on my other machine. I wonder if that would change anything? -=A.J. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Gilmore [mailto:omnip@usit.net] Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2000 10:01 AM To: ecs-list@netbloc.com Subject: Re: [ECS] Phone Interface C UUUUUGGGGGG A.J., Is there ANYTHING "unique" about your hardware setup/connections ? The reason I ask is that I have never seen (or heard of) either of these problems. What is "no message" ? Silence ? Did this problem happen with your other modem ? What modem was this ? The Win modem driver has no effect (ECS is talking directly to the modem). -- Mark Gilmore Omnipotence (ECS home automation software) http://www.usit.com/omnip 423-745-0026 Hours: Mon-Sat, 9AM-8PM/EST "A.J.
