Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] What's up with the new WPDL? A.J. Griglak Tue, 15 Aug 2000 09:25:21 -0400 |
So what can I do to get my WPDL events to work?
Does the /S (strip HTML codes) still work?
I get a Windows "ding" every time WPDL runs - can that be shut off?
I just spent a few minutes playing with WPDL.EXE, and not once was a
WPDL.HTM file generated. Here is the most sucessful looking output:
host=www.weather.com html=/weather/us/zips/08831.html port=80 fnam=wpdl.htm
Host name : www.weather.com
IP Address : 216.35.172.135
TX header:
GET /weather/us/zips/08831.html HTTP/1.1 Accept: text/* User-Agent: WPDL
Host: www.weather.com
RX Header:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Netscape-Enterprise/3.6 SP3 Date: Tue, 15 Aug 2000
13:19:28 GMT Set-cookie: RMID=180b489b39994360; expires=Fri, 31-Dec-2010
23:59:59 GMT; path=/; domain=.weather.com Content-type: text/html
Connection: close
conlen < 0
I entered WPDL "http://www.weather.com/weather/us/zips/08831.html"
However, there is no WPDL.HTM file anywhere on my system.

A.J.,
This error looks like a server problem, but in trying it out,
I DID notice that it was sending no "content length".
So I just modified WPDL to look for "</html>" if no such
length was sent by the server.
The 2nd (optional arg) for WPDL is the file name to write to.
