Mark,
For older BIOS's you probably need a copy of Ontrack's "Disk Manager" or
Western Digital's EZDrive.
They include drivers to access the drive, but they are quirky with programs
that go directly to BIOS for disk access.
Looking at my Disk Manager Disk, the recommended methods are to
a) Contact your motherboard manufacturer to see if you can download an
upgrade to a flashable BIOS.
b) Get a BIOS update on EEPROM.
c) Use Disk Manager, and set the drive as 4092x16x63
Is the BIOS Y2k compatible? Sounds pretty old.
I don't need my Disk Manager disk any more. You can have it if you like, it
came free with a Quantum 3gb drive about 3 years ago.

Subject: [ECS] Hard disk question
I've got a hard disk (http://www.pc-disk.de/pcdisk/h/6000/5291.htm)
with 16383 cylinders, but by 486 BIOS will not only accept 4
digits for the cyl count.
What do I do ?
Thanks,
