Hi everybody,

I haven't tried to use the web browser function of ECS 4.4 yet, but I have a suggestion
on how to get a name to match your IP address.

Even if your IP address changes each time you sign on.

I use a service called TZO. Our cable modem company changes our IP address every once
in a while, so it was annoying to gave to phone somebody at this office (if they were
there..) to search for the IP address with winipcfg .

TZO loads a little program in your system tray. It "phones home" every few minutes,
plus additionally if it detects a change in IP address.

You sign up with tzo and choose an name, like "omnipotence.tzo.net" . So if you
want to look at Mark's ECS system, you could browse to http:\\omnipotence.tzo.net:3000\home.htm
, rather than using a bunch of numbers.

There is no charge for 30 day trial. Since I log in to my office A LOT, from home, I
went ahead and bought a year's subscription. It was about $39 for 2 years. $24 for
1 year.

For those of you who buy UGate firewalls (which IMHO is a good idea if you are on DSL
or cable) they include a year subscription free. You can configure port 3000 to be open
in the firewall for ECS.
