Thanks for the reply. I may have figured it out.
I was testing the setup by using the power (ON/OFF) button
of my TV. When I later changed to another button (Volume) it
started working. Hopefully this will be just a case of it didn't
like me using the power button:)

I don't know what would cause this, but forgetting the ECS
warning, have you tested to see if ECS will monitor the signal ?
